Solar powered borehole pumps are aiding communities in rural Zimbabwe that are plagued by drought. With the support of the UN and a local NGO, cattle are being watered using these solar powered borehole pumps.
The borehole supplies water for a dip tank just a few meters away, which helps reduce the risk of waterborne disease, and by extension allow for the raising of healthier cattle.
In Mathafeni, Zimbabwe the diptank and borehole were rehabilitated by local NGO called, LEAD Trust, and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
