Engie will help Cote d’Ivoire meet its power needs with the construction of a PV solar power plant. The proposed plant will have a 150-MW capacity and is to be built in the city of Bouake.

“Engie wanted to invest in Côte d’Ivoire and chose the city of Bouake. This group came closer to the town hall and we decided together to install this solar power plant,” said Nicolas Youssouf Djibo, the mayor of the town.

Côte d’Ivoire is looking to double its power generation capacity by 2020 to 4,000 MW.
