China’s Dongfang Electric Corp. (DEC) signed a contract to build and manage seven hybrid power stations in Angola. Under the terms of this $246-million agreement, the group will install thermal power stations in various provinces of the country.
In addition to these hybrid plants, DEC will be responsible for the delivery, installation, management and maintenance of three diesel power stations with a capacity of 20 MW each. The company will also install medium voltage transmission lines of 15 and 30 Kilovolts to connect these power stations to the grid.
The power stations will help meet the country’s energy needs by combining the advantages of diesel and solar.
