LONDON – Libya’s Sharara oilfield, with a production capacity of around 330,000 barrels per day, is back online after protests blocking pipelines there ended, a Libyan oil source said on Thursday.

No details of its current production were immediately available. But traders had indicated the field had restarted early on Thursday.

In March, protesters blocked a pipeline leading from Sharara prompting a force majeure. In April, the protests ended only to restart a week later putting a halt to state company NOC’s plans to bring production there to 270,000 bpd.
