Norway’s Statoil recently revealed that it was evaluating new business opportunities in the solar industry. One of the countries it is looking at for that investment is Algeria.
The funds for the potential investment would come from the $197 million fund established by the company dedicated to renewable energies in February of last year.
Norwegian Foreign Affairs Minister Borge Brende and his Algerian counterpart Noureddine Bouterfa met recently and discussed possible Statoil investments in wind and solar power projects in Algeria.
